Less than 24 hours after signing a four-year, $46 million contract, New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis returned to the practice field Tuesday, preparing for the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.

After a 36-day holdout, the focus was conditioning. In the early part of practice, Revis worked alone with secondary coach Dennis Thurman, performing his backpedal and short sprints.

Revis didn't work in the first team drill. Instead of taking his usual spot with the starting defense, the All-Pro was off to the side, going through a series of conditioning drills. Everywhere he went, he was followed by NFL Films, shooting footage for the final episode of "Hard Knocks."

Exhausted by the distraction and lack of effort from Albert Haynesworth, the Washington Redskins have once again gauged trade interest in the defensive tackle from his former team, the Tennessee Titans, according to team sources.

It is at least the second occasion the Redskins have had discussions regarding Haynesworth with the Titans since Mike Shanahan was named Washington's coach in January.

The Heisman Trophy Trust is expected to strip former USC running back Reggie Bush of his 2005 Heisman Trophy and leave the award vacant, Yahoo Sports reported.

Two sources close to the trust said the organization is completing its investigation and will agree with the NCAA's finding that Bush accepted improper benefits while at USC and was ineligible during the 2005 season, according to the report. The NCAA cited USC for "lack of institutional control" and handed the Trojans four years' probation, a two-year bowl ban and a reduction in football scholarships.
